Yeah, It’s Friday!
Friday’s child is loving and giving.
I would like to believe that my love for Friday started because I was born on a Friday. If I was Ghanian, I would have been called Afia.
Growing up, Fridays meant I got to spend more time with my books and Dad. It was a great bonding experience. The love is yet to fade thus far.
You can’t deny that there is this joy in knowing that there would be two days of break before you start work again.
It is one of the most relaxed days at work and the end of the work week for some. The atmosphere is always calmer and everyone is mostly in a good mood. There are always exceptions to these but it doesn’t stop the joy.
Friday is also casual wear so you get to wear more comfortable attire compared to Monday e.g. Jeans and T-shirts or Native wear. Sometimes, you get to play music while you work and I can tell for a fact that music sounds better on Fridays.
One of the best advantages of Friday is knowing that you get to take a refreshing, long sleep past your normal routine. As a bookworm, it's a time to unwind with my to-read list knowing that I wouldn’t be disturbed.
You also get to spend time and catch up with loved ones as well as take some time for yourself, you get to catch up with personal projects and other social activities.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure that you get adequate rest, connect with yourself and loved ones, write if possible and laugh often.
Most importantly, take time to reflect on the week and what you have learned from it and apply the positives to the new week.
From me to you, have a great weekend!
PS- Fun Fact: The Japanese word ‘Kuchi zamishi’ is the act of eating when you’re not hungry because your mouth is lonely. Try not to overindulge this weekend.
