We have come a long way, haven’t we?

I remember when we first started,

I never knew it would end up like this

but I am glad for the growth

It’s a bittersweet experience

However, I am smiling more than I cried

And that's okay

We grew this past year, getting to know one another

Stepping on toes, speaking truths, fanning flames

For once we are on the same side

And the sun is shining brightly, blinding almost

Who knew joining hands would bring about much brilliance?

The hurts are no longer there but like an old wound only

When perchance sighted

Thank you for pushing me to aim for the galaxy

For standing when others pulled

For practical insights and upside-down philosophies

We can’t choose how we come

But we can make the best of what we have.

To another année

May your mind be strong, your body agile, feet swift

May all you ever need be anticipated and granted

By the Father himself.
